A growing iGaming company in Malta is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their backend-focused development team.
You will be involved in designing and building scalable systems, working on modern microservices architecture and contributing to the evolution of a high-performance platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Java-based microservices
- Work on backend systems and contribute to frontend integrations where needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features
- Improve system performance, scalability and reliability
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Identify and resolve performance issues and bugs
- Mentor and support other engineers within the team
Requirements
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with REST APIs and/or GraphQL
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
- Familiarity with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience working in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
- Understanding of scalable systems and performance optimisation
- Good communication skills in English
