Software Vacancy
We are looking for an experienced Development Team Lead to join an innovative engineering team in Malta.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys mentoring engineers, driving software delivery, and working closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-quality platforms. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the developers, improving engineering processes, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex software projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leadership, and other stakeholders to define priorities, timelines, and delivery plans
- Manage team performance through regular feedback, goal setting, and performance reviews
- Promote effective communication across engineering and cross-functional teams
- Identify and resolve delivery risks, technical challenges, and project blockers
- Ensure adherence to development best practices, coding standards, and engineering processes
- Drive continuous improvements to development workflows, tools, and team efficiency
- Track project progress and communicate delivery status and risks to technical leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience working on complex software platforms such as DSPs, tracking systems, attribution platforms, or performance marketing technologies
- At least 5 years of experience leading software engineering teams, including performance management, mentoring, and career development
- Previous experience managing senior software engineers within large-scale, high-availability systems
- Strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, release management, and post-release support
- Experience working within organisations where Product, Architecture, DevOps, and Development teams operate as separate functions
- Experience with Laravel and Cloud technologies such as AWS and GCP
Ability to translate business requirements and technical direction into structured delivery plans - Experience working with Agile development methodologies
- Experience within regulated industries, including iGaming, is considered an advantage
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
